In the Mirror of the Sky” is a dynamic and improvisational duet by masters of Persian music, Kayhan Kalhor and Ali Akbar Moradi. Mr. Kalhor, playing the Persian spiked fiddle (Kamancheh), is a world-renowned composer and four-time Grammy award nominee who won a Grammy for best world music album in 2016 with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble. Ali Akbar Moradi is an internationally acclaimed musician, the master of the Persian lute (Tanbour), and an ambassador of Kurdish music worldwide. “In the Mirror of the Sky” is an interpretation of the centuries-old and deeply-rooted traditional Kurdish and Persian music, performed by two of today’s masters of this tradition.
