The newly-created Stanford Chinese Music Ensemble, a volunteer student organization, will host the California Youth Chinese Symphony in its annual concert on May 26. Under the direction of Professor Jindong Cai, this 60-member combined ensemble will present the program Colorful Melody with Chinese traditional and folk music on Chinese instruments featuring pipa, erhu, and guzheng ensembles, as well as a concerto for bamboo flute and Chinese Orchestra.
